“The Beautiful” New Year’s Eve Party

“Die Schöne Party” was founded in March 2000 by radio hosts Volker Wieprecht and Robert Skuppin.

In Berlin, which was plagued by millennium parties, they had searched in vain for a dance opportunity for not-so-young adults far away from electronic music and any dress codes, but with currywurst and beer instead of canapé and champagne glasses. The only thing left for them to do was to do it themselves. From then on, for 18 years, every second Saturday in the Kalkscheune behind the Friedrichstadtpalast in Mitte, they danced “beautifully on four floors.

With the support of media partners radioeins and the city magazine tip, the party actually survived all the short-term trends of the party-hungry capital and quickly became a cult with guest DJ sets by actor Lars Eidinger, culture senator Klaus Lederer or Knorkator original Stumpen, concerts from Keimzeit to Tanga Elektra, readings by Harald Martenstein or Alexander Osang and performances by cabaret artist Florian Schröder or the Blue Man Group.

Since 2019, new history is being written; every first and third Saturday at the Frannz Club in the Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg.

After 575 days Corona break, we open again on 02.10.21. According to the current regulation of the state of Berlin, we are only allowed to admit vaccinated or recovered persons. We only accept scannable, digital vaccination certificates.
