The Berlin Music Video Awards are soon arriving, taking place from June 12th to 14th, and the excitement is building! This year’s BMVA is set to be the most spectacular yet, featuring electrifying performances, thrilling surprises, and unforgettable moments.
As the 13th edition of the awards, the BMVA continues to honor the craftsmanship of music videos, focusing on creative excellence rather than commercial success or non-artistic factors.
At the Berlin Music Video Awards, self-expression is at the heart of everything. This international event brings together nominees and attendees from around the world, each showcasing their unique sense of individuality.
Crafting an event for everyone
With 17 categories in total, the Berlin Music Video Awards honors every facet of music video creation, from directing to editing to art direction.
But now, let’s turn up the volume and dive into one of the most exciting categories… Best Song!
This category brings together a mix of rising talents and established artists, all recognized for their striking vocals and powerful lyrics. However, this year’s nominees prove that creativity, not industry status, is what truly stands out. We’re also excited to see local heroes in the spotlight, with Electric Callboy, a rock band that has been making waves for over a decade, alongside fresh talents like Fletchy Boy, an emerging name in the German rap scene, bringing sharp lyrics and dynamic beats and CLTX, a rising force in the techno world, delivering hard-hitting, industrial-infused tracks that push the boundaries of electronic music, who are quickly carving their own paths in the industry.

But raw talent isn’t just found in high-production videos, sometimes, the most impactful storytelling comes from those who do more with less. That brings us to the Best Low Budget category, where creativity takes center stage. This category celebrates artists and directors who prove that vision, ingenuity, and strong artistic choices can outshine even the biggest budgets.
This year’s nominees come from all corners of the world, with artists ranging from Brazil’s TAPABOKA to France’s very own Elodie Gervaise. These creators bring their unique perspectives and styles to the table. Among them, Jedy Deady from the United States is not only nominated but will also be performing at the awards, adding an extra layer of excitement to this already dynamic category.

The BMVA 2025 Lineup is Pure Fire
This year’s confirmed live performers promise to turn the Berlin Music Video Awards 2025 stage into a playground of boundary-breaking art and unapologetic expression. Leading the charge is Ice Zaddy, the high-voltage performer known for her explosive “Bad Bitch Music,” complete with vibrant visuals, colorful hair, and razor-sharp nails, serving looks and energy in equal measure. Jedy Deady brings a deeper, more soulful vibe with her introspective melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, recently earning a nomination in the Best Low Budget category for her raw, visually striking work.
Louis Cardozo will mesmerize with his minimalist yet emotionally potent sound, his Best Song nomination solidifying his place as one to watch. Lamia, known for her haunting soundscapes and mythic visuals, was recently spotlighted for her video “Cobra,” a hypnotic journey through surreal storytelling. Ballet Sur_Real takes performance to the next level, blending contemporary dance with experimental video to create immersive, metaphor-laced stage experiences. And Joanne Bird, master of quiet cinematic intensity, will bring her signature atmospheric presence to life in a way that only she can.
Soundtracking this wild ride are DJs HelloTrip, Lawya, and Chris Craft, each bringing their own sonic magic to the decks. From genre-blurring blends to deep underground cuts and unpredictable transitions, they’ll be keeping the energy sky-high well into the Berlin night.
New Additions to the Jury
We are thrilled to announce the addition of Melita Radocaj, Daryush Shokof, and Arabella Bartsch as the newest jury members for this year’s Berlin Music Video Awards.
Melita Radocaj has her work featured in CreAtIva Magazine’s XMAS 2024 Edition and showcased at ARTIFICIAL V.3 CITYLAB GLOBAL, highlighting her expertise in AI-driven visual storytelling. Additionally, platforms like Curious Refuge have recognized her groundbreaking contributions to the field.
Daryush Shokof, is best known for his avant-garde films and critical takes on societal issues. He directed Seven Servants (1996), starring Anthony Quinn, and founded the Maximalism art movement, working alongside artists like Jeff Koons and Mark Kostabi.
Arabella Bartsch has worked on impactful projects, including the hit series “Love Addicts” (2022) and the critically acclaimed “Druck” (2021), a German adaptation of Skam that gained a dedicated following.
Together, they represent a dynamic mix of creative, artistic, and cultural expertise, and we’re excited to see how their contributions shape this year’s awards.
But let’s talk about personal favorites, because while every nominee brings something unique to the table, some videos left an impression on us. Keep in mind that we only selected a couple of categories to highlight.
A standout in this year’s Best Art Director category is 80QM by Nina Chuba (made by Easydoesit). With its vibrant visuals and Chuba’s commanding presence, the video is a bold statement of music creation. A local talent with unstoppable ambition, she’s one to watch, and we’re betting big on her.
Then there’s Afterglow by Klangkarussell x GIVVEN, nominated for Best Cinematography. This is a visual experience. Every frame feels meticulously crafted, pulling the viewer into an atmosphere so immersive, it leaves you breathless. The interplay of light, movement, and perspective is nothing short of mesmerizing, proving once again that cinematography in music videos can be just as powerful as in any blockbuster film.
With such a strong lineup this year, the competition is fierce, but that’s what makes the Berlin Music Video Awards so thrilling. It’s where creativity, vision, and storytelling collide, and we can’t wait to see who takes home the trophies.
